Rev. M. Jay Bennett serves as the organizing pastor of Neon Reformed Presbyterian Church and Moderator of the Presbytery of the Southeast. Jay grew up in Cochran, GA, a small farming community forty miles south of Macon. Jay graduated from DTS cum laude (ThM, emphasis in Historical Theology). His master’s thesis was on the theology of Jonathan Edwards (A Synthesis of Jonathan Edwards’s Thoughts on Theodicy and Its Pastoral Implications). This was also the time when Jay and Andrea became the proud parents of Cole and Joanna. After seminary Jay completed a one-year internship at Park Cities Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Dallas, TX. Then in October 2008, the Bennett’s moved to St. Louis, MO where Jay was ordained by Missouri Presbytery (PCA) and served as an Assistant Pastor of Twin Oaks Presbyterian Church until November 2010. In March 2011 Jay was invited to fill the pulpit at Neon Reformed Presbyterian Church for the first time. The Presbytery of the Southeast (OPC) approved him to serve as Regular Supply in October. Six months later Jay accepted the call to serve as the evangelist/organizing pastor. He was installed on June 29, 2012. Jay blogs at Light and Heat. In his spare time he enjoys hunting, fishing, golf, cooking, chess, cribbage, movies, television, and music.
